North South University (NSU) is making significant strides in cementing its position as a global academic powerhouse by establishing over 300 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across multiple stakeholders. These MoUs include agreements with universities, organizations, institutions, and corporations in over 30 countries, including the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, Malaysia, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Singapore. These agreements allow Bangladeshi students to access world-class education and research facilities. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury vice chancellor of NSU emphasized the significance of these collaborations, stating that partnerships are key to academic excellence and research innovation.

United States remains a key hub for NSU’s academic partnerships, boasting the highest number of collaborations. Over 30 US universities have joined forces with NSU, including The George Washington University, University of Maryland, NYIT, Colorado State University, UC Berkeley, Penn State, St. Xavier University, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Texas A&M, UT Arlington, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. NSU has inked agreements with 18 universities in the United Kingdom, among others. Canada remains a key partner, with NSU collaborating with nine universities, one organization, and one institute. In Australia, the university has forged ties with 14 institutions, enabling student mobility and joint academic ventures.

In China, NSU has established partnerships with seven universities and one corporate entity, including Yunnan University, Yunnan Radio and Television University, Hubei University, China Three Gorges University, and Communication University of China. The university’s Office of External Affairs (OEA) bridges NSU and renowned global institutions, aiming to elevate the university’s image and reputation locally and abroad.

NSU’s domestic partnerships are equally noteworthy, with 104 MoUs signed within Bangladesh, including agreements with 44 NGOs and INGOs. Strategic local alliances include the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Grameenphone, The City Bank, and icddr,b.
