Brac University celebrated the fifth death anniversary of its founder Fazle Hasan Abed with a series of events on its Merul Badda campus. Commemorative programs included a discussion, a session reminiscing about Abed’s life, philosophy and works; an art exhibition, poster presentations and recognition of social impact projects initiated by students.
Month-long art exhibition was inaugurated by professors Syed Mahfuzul Aziz and Lady Syeda Sarwat Abed. Event also featured a presentation by Erum Mariam, executive director of the Brac Institute of Educational Development. Students also participated in a chess competition on Wednesday. Abed, a pioneer of socio-economic development in Bangladesh, died on December 20, 2019, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire millions globally.
