7 Private Universities in Bangladesh Among Top 15 in QS World University Rankings 2026

Seven private universities in Bangladesh have been ranked among the top 15 higher education institutions in the country, according to the 2026 QS World University Rankings published by UK-based education and research firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

North South University (NSU) has maintained its status as the highest-ranked private university in Bangladesh, placing third nationally. However, its global rank shifted slightly from 901–950 last year to the 951–1000 band this year.

A category private university ranked in the top 15 from Bangladesh are:

  • 3rd: North South University (951–1000)
  • 4th: Daffodil International University (1001–1200)
  • 5th: Brac University (1201–1400)
  • 9th: American International University-Bangladesh (1400+)
  • 11th: East West University (1400+)
  • 12th: Independent University, Bangladesh (1400+)

A total of 15 Bangladeshi universities both public and private made it into the global ranking, which included 1501 universities worldwide.
