Bangladesh Bar Council Issues Urgent Notice to Private Universities on LLB (Hons) Student List Submission

Submission of Admission and Passing Lists for LLB (Hons) Students by Private Universities in Bangladesh

Date: June 27, 2025
Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Bar Council has issued a crucial reminder to private universities offering LLB (Hons) programs, requiring them to submit student admission and graduation lists by June 30, 2025. This directive aims to ensure proper monitoring of future legal professionals and to uphold Bar Council policies.

✅ What Universities Must Do:

  • Submit both admission and graduation list for LLB (Hons) students.
  • Send a hard copy signed by the Registrar and Law Faculty Head to the Bar Council office in Shahbagh, Dhaka.
  • Send a soft copy in Excel format to: bangladeshbarcouncil.reg@gmail.com.

⚠️ Warning from the Bar Council:

  • Failure to submit on time will result in a suspension of the advocacy registration process for affected students.
  • Lists exceeding UGC-approved seats or outside policy guidelines will be rejected.

📌 Final Reminder:

Universities that have already submitted lists for previous semesters do not need to resend those. However, lists for new batches or semesters must be submitted within the deadline.

Note: This information was given in a notice signed by Bar Council Secretary and District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Kamal Hossain Sikder on June 16.

The notice states that there is an obligation to regularly send the admission and passing list of law students to the Bangladesh Bar Council. But recently, it has been seen that many private universities are not following this rule properly.
