
Brac University Summer 2025 Orientation Highlights Global Leadership, Climate Action and EU Collaboration
Brac University hosted its summer 2025 orientation program on Wednesday, 25 June at its Merul Badda campus in Dhaka, welcoming new students with a focus on global challenges, youth empowerment and international academic opportunities.
The event featured Michael Miller, Ambassador of the European Union to Bangladesh, as the chief guest. In his keynote, he encouraged students to become agents of change in the face of climate change, digital disruption, inequality, and populism.
“Be curious, ask questions, challenge algorithms, respect diversity, collaborate across divides, and use your education to make a difference,” said Ambassador Miller.
He also promoted the Erasmus Scholarship Program, urging Brac University students to apply and benefit from international student exchange opportunities across Europe.
Brac University Honors Female Student Leaders
During the program, Brac University presented the “Special Recognition Award—Summer 2025” to three exemplary female students:
- Muzhgan Pazhwak (8th semester, Brac Business School) – Global Leadership
- Bushra Abdul Kaliq (final year, School of Law) – Advocacy Excellence
- Aonkita Dey (11th semester, Department of Economics and Social Sciences) – Debating Achievement
These recognitions highlight the university’s commitment to women’s empowerment, student leadership, and academic excellence.
Fazle Hasan Abed Remembered, Clean Energy Campaign Showcased
This orientation included a tribute video to Fazle Hasan Abed founder of Brac University, celebrating his legacy of education, social impact and innovation.
Students from the university’s cultural club Monon performed a vibrant dance performance, enriching the event’s cultural flavor.
The European Union also showcased its “I’ve Got the Power” campaign, demonstrating the transformative impact of clean energy and sharing real-life success stories of communities empowered by renewable energy solutions.
