NSU Undergraduate Law Symposium Summer 2024, organized by the Department of Law at North South University, celebrated the academic contributions of young legal minds from 30 universities.
Event saw the highest number of submissions, with nearly 70 students from 30 universities submitting their papers. 13 were shortlisted for presentation. Judges Dr. Liton Chandra Biswas, Nadia Rahaman, and Md. Johir Uddin Shohag attended the symposium. Mobasshira Tabassum Rahi, a North South University student, became the symposium’s champion.
Durdana Chowdhury and Upama Sharma won the prizes for 1st and 2nd runner-up, respectively. The Vice Chancellor of NSU, Professor Abdul Hannan, graced the prize-giving ceremony, along with Professor Rizwanul Islam, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Chair of the Department of Law. Professor Hannan emphasized the need for good lawyers in Bangladesh to bring about dynamic growth in the legal arena and how organizing such symposiums aids in creating well-researched and competent future lawyers.
