MIS Department at AIUB Hosts Dynamic Poster Competition on IT in Business

On May 21, 2025, the Department of Management Information Systems (MIS) at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) hosted a vibrant Poster Competition on Information Technology in Business. Held in the open space between Annex 2 and 3, Level 2, the event created an energetic and collaborative atmosphere where students showcased their insights into how IT is revolutionizing business operations, decision-making and customer engagement.

Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, presenting innovative posters on topics such as digital transformation, AI in business, e-commerce strategies and data-driven decision-making. Their creative and analytical presentations drew attention from peers and faculty alike, fostering a multidisciplinary exchange of ideas.

Active involvement from the MIS faculty—Mr. Mohammad Baijed, Mr. Khandakar Tahurul Islam, Mr. Nur Al Ahad, and Ms. Nazia Farhana—ensured the event’s academic rigor. Faculty members from other departments also visited the exhibition, engaging with students and providing valuable feedback, further enriching the learning experience.

The event was graced by senior members of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA): Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Advisor and Dean-in-Charge; Dr. Rezbin Nahar, Director of the Undergraduate Program; and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam, Director of the Graduate Program. Their presence added prestige and motivated the students.

A formal Prize Giving Ceremony was held in Room 3205 at 4:15 PM, where awards were presented to the Champion, 1st Runner-up, and 2nd Runner-up teams by Dr. Rezbin Nahar and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faridul Alam. The awards recognized excellence in creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills. The event was proudly sponsored by MSI, whose support played a crucial role in the competition’s success.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, the competition promoted the practical application of business and IT knowledge. It encouraged students to think critically, conduct research, and present solutions to real-world business challenges.

This initiative reflects AIUB’s ongoing commitment to experiential learning and industry-aligned education. By combining academic theory with practical execution, the MIS Poster Competition continues to prepare students for success in the digital economy.
