North South University Represents Bangladesh at EFEC-2025

Six students from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, North South University (NSU), Bangladesh, successfully completed the Educultural Research Fusion Exchange Program (EFEC-2025), organized by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The international exchange program ran from July 22 to 28, 2025.

Global Participation in Student Exchange Program

The event hosted eight delegations from six countries, including:

  • Bangladesh – North South University
  • Vietnam – University of Medicine and Pharmacy
  • Indonesia – Indonesia University
  • Cambodia – University of Puthisastra
  • Philippines – University of San Augustine
  • England – Liverpool John Moores University

This student exchange initiative provided opportunities for academic collaboration, research exchange, and cultural bonding.

Academic & Research Highlights

Participants engaged in:

  • Campus visits at leading Malaysian universities
  • Practical workshops and seminars
  • Public health awareness activities
  • Visits to UKM Clinical Simulation Lab, Duopharma Biotech, and UKM Hospital

Professor Dr. Mohammad Hussain Shahriar, Chairman of NSU’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, presented a research paper at seminars hosted by UKM and the University of Malaya. Discussions focused on joint research, exchange programs, and international publications.

NSU Students Achieve Success in Competitions

NSU students earned recognition in program competitions:

  • Adik Rahman’s team won the Clinical Skills Event Championship.
  • Raisa Noor and Oishee Chowdhury’s team placed second runner-up.
  • The delegation showcased Bangladeshi culture with traditional music, dance, and attire.

Cultural Night & International Cooperation

The program concluded with a Cultural Night, where delegations performed in cultural shows, fashion displays, and award ceremonies.

EFEC-2025 strengthened global academic cooperation, intercultural understanding, and pharmaceutical research partnerships, while positioning NSU students as ambassadors of Bangladesh’s talent and heritage.

Southeast University, Bangladesh and Universiti Malaysia Perlis Sign Letter of Intent

Southeast University (SEU) and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
