NSU Hosts MacEwan University Delegation to Strengthen Academic Ties

North South University (NSU) welcomed a delegation from MacEwan University, Alberta, Canada for a day-long engagement aimed at fostering academic collaboration and exploring future partnerships. The visit held on Thursday at NSU’s campus in Dhaka marked a significant step in enhancing international research initiatives and expanding student and faculty exchange opportunities.

The MacEwan University delegation included Erin Wight, Director of MacEwan International and Samuel Mugo, Professor and Associate Development. They engaged in productive discussions with NSU’s academic leadership, including Md Mainul Hossain, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology; Syed Mortuza Asif Ehsan, Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Economics; and Md Rizwanul Islam, Professor of Law and Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Also present at the meeting were Coordination Officer Tasnia Azmeri Madiha and International Affairs Officer Samina Alam Miti from NSU’s Office of External Affairs.

As part of the visit, Professor Mugo delivered a presentation titled ‘Leveraging International Partnerships: Transdisciplinary Research in Arts and Science at MacEwan University.’ The session provided students with insights into the impact of global collaborations on academic research and interdisciplinary studies.

The discussions between NSU and MacEwan University focused on potential research partnerships, student exchange programs, and educational development strategies. The engagement reaffirmed NSU’s commitment to strengthening global academic ties and promoting international cooperation in higher education.

The Bright Admission Coaching Exchange Program supports scholarships for students transferring credits from North South University to MacEwan University.
