
The Brac University team won the Best Defense Award at the National Trial Tactics, Bangladesh’s first-ever Criminal Court Mock Trial Competition, organized by the North South University Law and Mooting Society (NSULMS).
It organized by NSULMS assessed students’ ability to present arguments using evidence, legal principles and critical thinking while maintaining professionalism and courtroom decorum. Over 22 teams from across Bangladesh participated with 11 representing the prosecution and 11 serving as the defense.
Brac University’s team led by Sreyoshi Karmakar was assigned the defense role. It featured 37 judges including Supreme Court advocates, Sessions Court judges and additional attorney generals. Justice Syed Mohammad Tazrul Hossain, Dean of the School of Humanities & Social Sciences and Istiaque Ahmed Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Law at North South University graced the occasion as the chief guest.
