NSU Startups Next, the academic incubator of North South University, hosted a fireside chat featuring Sadia Haque, co-founder of ShareTrip, Bangladesh’s leading online travel technology company. The event, which was moderated by NSU Startups Next’s coordinators Quazi Tafsirul Islam and Faiz Ibne Hossain, attracted around 60 attendees. Haque shared her firsthand experiences, lessons learned, and pivotal moments in her entrepreneurial journey. She emphasized the importance of personal branding for early-stage entrepreneurs, emphasizing that communication skills are more important than the product or service.

The event provided unique insights into the startup ecosystem in Bangladesh and the importance of resilience, innovation, and strategic thinking in navigating the competitive business landscape. The Q&A segment allowed participants to engage directly with Haque, deepening their understanding of the entrepreneurial journey.

Daffodil International University (DIU) will host the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia Regional Dhaka Site 2024 on 7 December at the Shadhinota Sommelon Kendra in Daffodil Smart City, Savar, Dhaka.

The event, organized by the ICPC Foundation, is the world’s largest programming competition, involving over 50,000 students annually from 3,000 universities. The Dhaka Regional 2024 is the largest onsite competition globally, featuring 308 teams selected from 2,489 teams across 148 institutions through preliminary rounds. The top ten teams will receive cash prizes, certificates, and trophies, with the champion earning a direct invitation to the 2025 World Finals. Other winners will qualify for the Asia West Finals alongside teams from India, Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. DIU’s hosting of ICPC-2024 aims to be a milestone event, fostering talent development and strengthening Bangladesh’s IT sector. Notable additions include a micro-credential program, a large-scale IT job fair featuring top companies, live scoreboards, and tech talk sessions.
