Professor Dr. Hasan Mahmud Reza, a renowned researcher and professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at North South University (NSU), has been awarded the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS) Gold Medal 2024 for his outstanding contributions to biology education and biomedical research in Bangladesh.

Dr. Reza earned his PhD in biology from Japan’s prestigious Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) under the Monbusho Scholarship. He served as an assistant professor at NAIST and currently works as a research scientist at the Singapore Eye Research Institute, affiliated with the National University of Singapore (NUS).
