NSU Architecture Department Hosts “Meet the Department Office” Event to Foster Student Engagement and Celebrate Achievements

The Department of Architecture at North South University (NSU) hosted a dynamic and interactive event titled “Meet the Department Office – Share Your Thoughts” on campus. The event aimed to promote open dialogue, enhance student engagement, and build stronger connections between students and faculty.

An Open Platform for Student Voices

Chaired by Shahriar Iqbal Raj, the session offered students a welcoming platform to share experiences, express concerns, and recognize the efforts of the department’s academic and administrative staff. The event reinforced the department’s commitment to creating a student-friendly, inclusive learning environment.

Showcasing Student Achievements and Global Opportunities

A central part of the program featured a showcase of student accomplishments in areas such as:

  • Design competitions
  • Collaborative academic research
  • International internships

Students shared insights from their internship experiences in Malaysia, notably with Dr. Tan Lukman. Inspired by these success stories, the department announced plans to extend similar internship opportunities to Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Singapore in the upcoming semester.

ARCJAM 2025 Recognition and Award-Winning Thesis

The department proudly celebrated its recent recognition at ARCJAM 2025, a significant milestone that highlighted the growing impact of NSU Architecture students on both national and international platforms.

Additionally, the Department Chair presented the Annual Report, which reviewed academic and co-curricular initiatives. Among the standout achievements was a thesis project by Faria Hossain, which earned prestigious awards from Nippon, BSRM and KSRM, demonstrating the department’s dedication to academic excellence and innovation.

Promoting Research and Innovation Culture

In the last semester alone, the department conducted 24 research-related activities, all with direct student participation. This reflects a strong and growing culture of collaborative research, encouraging students to pursue critical thinking and creative problem-solving.
